Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Request Form (1 page)
*As a preliminary note: please be cognizant of what you type into your request, as this is a Public records request. The information you type into the request and the responses are PUBLICLY VIEWABLE. LCSO provides access to public records pursuant to Nevada’s Public Records Act (NRS Chapter 239). Nevada’s Public Records Law was enacted to ensure that police records are available to the public, unless specifically deemed to be confidential. A public record is a record that is prepared, used, or maintained by any law enforcement agency in the course of performing a law enforcement function. A request should be for an identifiable record that exists at the time of the request. An example of an identifiable record is an incident crime report (ICR), arrest report (AR), body worn camera video (BWC), voluntary statements, purchase agreements, and aggregate data. The Nevada Public Records Act does not require an agency to create data or generate new documents to respond to public records requests. A request only applies to existing records. Juvenile records are not subject to FOIA requests. Requests may be submitted via email (FOIA@Lincolncountynv.gov), mail (PO Box 570 Pioche, NV 89043) or in person.
